the right stuff

though scent is said to be the strongest sense tied to memory, you have to admit some images are indelible.  in brainstorming potential unit plans recently i started remembering things from my childhood bedroom.  no, not the curated one of our teenage years, but the little-kid-with-skinned-knees-buck-teeth-and-koolaid-stains age.  here are a few of this indelible images...

1) my new kids on the block poster (and many other collectibles!) - in hindsight, maybe this was the foray into the tween years, but let's just say justin bieber has nothing on these O.G. bad boys.  yes folks, these are rat tails - remember those?

2) my hulk hogan poster - i remember this hanging in the inside of my closet as a young kid.  a gift from my dad who i thought was obviously the second most strong guy to the huckster himself.  he was an avid fishing guy as well so i thought somehow this image harnessed all of those powers :)

hopefully this has no bearing on my taste in men in 2011.  yikes.  ;)
